The Young
Young is promise
Young is hope
Young is not being tied by another’s rope
Young is forever
And hating words like never
Young is running out the gate
And coming home when it’s late
Young is love
And then the ache
Young is the beginning
Of a song to keep on singing
Young is learning
And then yearning
For a truth discerning
Young is nervous
Young is dark some days
Young is finding different ways
Young is travelling
To marvel at a world unravelling
Young is overawed
And sometimes flawed
Young is seeking
For a truth speaking
Young is frantically running around
And getting found
Young is making love on a sandy beach
And finding places others could not reach
Young is failing
And falling
And stalling
And crawling
Young is pain
And learning disdain
Young is jealous
And sometimes zealous
Young’s a big adventure
All must venture
To a place who can know
But feel we must go
We change we grow
But never let go
Young is kind
And has a sharp mind
A place to be
Young is joy
Young is peace
Young is sitting on a beach
Touching sunsets we cannot reach
Young is waking every morn
And sometimes feeling forlorn
Young is feeling doubt and glory
In the divine
Young is knowing it has no age
In the presence of a timeless sage

Oh my goodness,I love it ❤️
A beautiful reflection on the agelessness of youth. For, as your poem suggests, we can be young at any age. ❤️
