Love and Truth
Buried once
And years flew by
No feelings
Found
On barren ground
Then you walked by
And caught my eye
With a tender smile
Sat awhile
And so it began
An affair
We did not care
All we had we share
And you would stare
With eyes that stripped
Me Bare
Both said love
But words
Don’t care
Easy come
And tossed aside
Love was for you
But you were not for love
Just summer laughs
And sun
No harm was meant
Just fun to be had
And be glad
But autumn’s here
Move on
Move anywhere
Door closed
Bye now
But why now
And that was it
Nothing
Emptiness
Now lay down
Alone
Love’s magic glove
No longer fits
Dumped
Slumped
On life’s canvas lay
Here to stay
The end is quiet
Was a fast knock
The last knock
Hardest knock of all
Cannot get up
Tried
Did
Cried
Did
Lied did
Though always true
To you
Time passes
Slowly
Crawling
In darkness
Time and time and time
The why’s
And why’s
And why’s
An empty church
To go
To grow
Simple thoughts
Quiet thoughts
Good thoughts
Of other’s plight
This heavy heart a light affair
Sitting on this wooden chair
Darkness falls
And within it’s halls
A candle flickers
All ends hurt
All hurt ends
This was known
But questions never answered
Leaves a hole too deep
This place the answers seep
And in time
It would stay
And easy say love you
Only the brave and true
Can look you in the eyes
And say don’t
And in that old church
A truth was learnt
So hold it dear
For it is clear
Only truth holds love
And love holds truth
And if it’s true,
It will not bend or break
So understand
And smile
Move on …

The hardest thing to know about a person
is when they’re going to change their mind
the rhyme or reason one cannot find…
Wow, so many layers + emotions within this one piece to digest. Beautifully written!
